The Summit Street Bed and Breakfast Inns consists of two large adjacent 100-year-old Victorian houses listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This bed and breakfast inn is located near downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina in the West End, a National Historic District of fine old homes.  Gourmet restaurants and pubs in historic buildings and antique shops are only one or two blocks away.

Room #223 "the attic room" in the 1895 Benjamin Joseph Sheppard House    (on the third floor)

1. This suite is the only room on the third floor. 
2. This door goes out onto a large flat roof which has a fire escape. (This solid brick house has fire sprinkler system.) 
3. Breakfast table is set with old-fashioned china, silver, and flowers. Refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee/tea maker are near by. 
4. Large 2-person whirlpool tub with candles, bubble bath, and rubber ducky.  A skylight is over the tub. 
5. Beautiful wicker chair. 
6. Large walk-in shower has both wall shower and hand-held shower. There is also a towel warmer. 
7. This second TV has VCR. 
8.  "Millionaire's sink" - Large unique porcelain enamel sink was rescued from the Reynolds mansion when it was torn down.  Lighted make-up mirror, hair dryer, premium soaps, shower cap, hand lotion, cotton balls/Q-tips and Woolite are at commode counter. 
9. Large wall mirror. 10. Walk-in closet has antique chest of drawers, terry robes, large wooden hangers, scissors, safety pins and lint remover. 
11. Ironing cabinet opens to reveal ironing board & iron 
12.  Antique inlaid book case. 
13. Antique bedside table holds stereo CD/tape/radio and alarm clock.  Speakers are in bedroom and tub room.
14. King size bed has antique carved walnut headboard.  Skylights with room darkening shades are over bed. 
15. Antique Mission Style desk has large work area with phone, lamp and surge-protected outlets. 
16. Love seat is unique antique wooden porch glider.
17. There is a new wall-mounted flat-panel 32" TV/DVD with AppleTV for streaming free movies and CDs.  Free WI-FI high speed internet service is provided for your computer.  (An iMac computer is available in the Billiard Room.)
